Grandma's Sugar Cookies

Cream together:
1 cup butter or shortening         
2 eggs
1 ½ cup sugar                           
¾ cup sour cream
2 teaspoon vanilla
Sift together:
4 cups flour                              
¾ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder        
¾ teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking soda

Combine both mixtures until smooth.  Chill 1 hour or more.  Use 1/3 dough at a time.  Roll out thick.  Makes approx 24 cookies.  Bake at 400 for 10 minutes.  Cool, then frost
